IMBEL - the warrior from Sao Paulo
One day, looking through the arms encyclopaedic work "The complete world encyclopedia of guns", I found a brand of Brazilian handguns I had never heard about. I browsed the Internet, but honestly with no satisfactory result. My interest increased when I realized that the factory producing them, had a long history.
About forty years ago the Brazilian armed forces started a research for a reliable and proven handgun system to equip their personnel. Many companies were involved in this competition. Arms giant "Taurus" proposed the PT92 model. IMBEL, another major Brazilian company proposed recently appeared gun "Pistola 9 M 973".
